This week, when you can, make time to rest and retreat from the barrage of information, news, and more that comes at you on a daily basis. The purpose is not to escape permanently but to give you time to heal and renew. Creativity is harder when you are exhausted in mind and spirit. You are not less or wrong because you need to step away periodically. That’s why spiritual traditions encourage one day a week, or certain times of the month or year, when you cease activity–mental and physical.
Focus, 6 of Coins. Coins is the element of Earth in the realm of home, health, wealth, anything physical. Six is a number of harmony and generosity. Once you have taken time to rest and renew, consider who might benefit from your generosity of spirit and creativity? What resources do you have an abundance of–such as experience, materials, connections–that you might share with others? How can your creativity be of benefit to you and to others?
Action, 7 of Cups. Cups is the element of Water in the realm of heart, emotions, dreams, intuition, and creativity. Seven is a number of action or the contemplation of it. Be careful this week that as you retreat to rest and renew, you don’t get caught up in wishful thinking that leads nowhere. Instead of wishing things were this way, focus on what you can do, what actions you can take that will result in new work, new opportunities, or new contributions to your creative field.
