Keeping busy” is the remedy for all the ills in America. It’s also the means by which the creative impulse is destroyed. ? Joyce Carol Oates
It’s a New Year and like many other creative and spiritual entrepreneurs, I am creating this year’s plan for my business.
Having a plan for your creative business, whether you are a writer, artist, coach or other creative entreprener, a is important if you want to get your work out into the world and income into your pocket.
However…
Busy work, planning, mapping, scheduling, filing, calling, etc. must NOT get in the way of the inner work that is even more necessary for creative and business success.
Why? Because otherwise you can end up making the WRONG plan for the WRONG journey.
The one someone else thought you should make…
The one you thought you should make because it would make you money…
Or gain you recognition and accolades…
But if you take the journey that has no passion, that fails to engage your creative soul…
Well, chances of success diminish and challenges of burn out, health problems and even failure, increase.
Staying connected to that Inner Vision, to the Muse and your source of creative inspiration and guidance, means success that is more rewarding emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically.
Are you staying connected? Are you listening to your Muse?
Because if you are deaf to your Muse, you are deaf to your creative soul…
How will you listen and connect this year?
