“The ultimate call of the Muses in contemporary life is to live a creative and authentic life.” Angeles Arrien

Commit to Your Creative Project

Monday’s Tarot Message from the Muse for the week of 1/13/2014

Theme, 4 of Wands. Wands is the element of fire, of passion, will, spirit, and creativity. This week, look for where your current creative work or project requires a commitment from you in order to keep growing, as if your Muse keeps asking, “Are you committed to the work…really?”

Focus, 10 of Swords. Swords is the element of air, mind, thoughts, attitudes, beliefs…and communications from others. Where in your creative life are you allowing others’ thoughts and communications about your work to weaken your belief in the work and yourself. Are you going to allow them to immobilize you?

Action, The Wheel. A major arcana card indicates a strong energy for this action this week. If you stay focused on your work and your reasons for doing it, keep an eye on the prize, then the ups and downs, “the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” (that 10 of Swords) won’t keep you from maintaining your creative equilibrium.

Gift, 5 of Swords. Because when you stay focused on your work and your purpose, you’ll receive the gift of knowing which verbal battles to fight, where to take your stand for your creative work, and not waste your energy fighting insignificant battles.

  1. It is certainly synchronicity that you created this spread today. It is exactly what I need to hear. I have had an incomplete painting on my easel for a while. I keep looking at it, and doing something else. This is an invitation for me to take up the tools and being it to resolution, by navigating the obstacles that come up. It is a new cycle for me, and time to do different and with more ease! Thank you for this message.

    1. You are so welcome, Michaela. Sometimes we feel pushed from the work because something is germinating. Other times we feel pushed because of our own doubts and fears. I hope this Full Moon empowers and nurtures your creative flow. 🙂
