Don’t Lose Focus When the Work Gets Hard

MONDAY’S TAROT MESSAGE FROM THE MUSE, 11/12/2018

Theme, 7 of Cups. Interestingly, this is the same theme from last week, so it is an energy that is still at work. Cups is the element of Water in the realm of heart, emotions, dreams, intuition and creativity. This card is about keeping your focus, not being distracted. This week, it’s especially about not losing focus because the work gets hard. Even though it feels easier to start working on something else, keep your eye on the prize.

Focus, Knight of Cups. And speaking of focus, ask yourself, “How am I the champion for my work in spite of the emotional challenges that lurk just beneath the surface when I take my work into the world?” When the work gets hard, don’t let fear and other emotions sabotage your willingness to be a champion for it. How will you move past those fears and self-doubts?

Action, King of Cups. This card has the answer to your focus question. The King is the master of the element, ruling the element of Water (emotions, dreams, intuition and creativity)instead of being ruled by it. This week, give yourself some emotional distance and perspective on your creative project so that when the work gets hard, you have the determination to keep going because you can see the big picture for it.

Gift, King of Swords. Another King, this one in the suit of Swords which is the element of Air in the realm of mind, thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and communication. When you focus on the work in spite of challenges, brave up to taking it into the world, and give yourself a little emotional distance on it, you receive the gifts of mental clarity and confidence, or even the gift of someone who helps you communicate about your project with expertise.

  1. Thank you for another inspirational Monday Tarot message! We met at your workshop at the New Jersey writers’ conference. Your workshop was awesome by the way!

I’m still searching for a deck of tarot cards. Would you mind telling the name/brand of the deck you use in your videos?

    Thanks,
